Seat Belts and Air Bags Save Lives:

It was a wonderful day.  Beck had her eye surgery, followed by a nice lunch at Picadilly and a lengthy time to visit and tell stories.  Likely 2 hours of fun, and then goodbyes and good wishes.  Then at nearly 2pm the Carolinians reached the intersection of Military Highway (Rt 13) and Rt 58.  It was there where they stopped, looked both ways and proceeded to cross 4 high speed (60mph) lanes of 58 eastbound.  No sooner did they pull out but a cream colored Suzuki driven by a Virginian from Franklin, in the far right lane (east bound) slammed into Lonnie's red Toyota Tacoma as he proceeded to cross the lanes.  Thanks to seat belts and air bags all 3 in the wreck survived.  All three were treated and released except Beck was admitted to Norfolk General hospital with a fractured sternum and pelvis.
